ACCESSWESTsm ONLINE BANKING SECURITY
|
|
Community West Bank is committed to providing you with a private and secure
Internet banking environment. That is why we use sophisticated security
technologies to ensure that the transmitted data is secure.
Anytime you provide personal information (such as account number, password,
transfer requests, etc.), we encrypt the data using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer
(SSL) technology. To support this technology, you need to have a SSL-capable
browser. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later; AOL 5.0 are all SSL-capable
and will activate it automatically when you sign on to your account(s). We do
not recommend use of the beta versions of these browsers.
You can tell if you are on a secure site by looking at the symbol at the bottom
of your browser screen. If you are using Internet Explorer, the symbol is a
lock. If the symbol is unbroken, you are using a secure server.
Users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 for Macintosh, and Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.05 for Macintosh will experience an additional dialog box stating
"Certificate Authority Is Expired" when connecting securely with your site
after January 1, 2000.
Customers must treat their Community West Bank AccessWestsm user ID
and password with the same care that they treat their ATM or credit card PIN.
In addition, an AccessWestsm user must make sure that no one is
physically watching as his or her password is entered. If a user has logged
onto AccessWestsm, the user should exit the browser when leaving the
computer unattended. Users should also take the standard precautions to keep
computers clean and free from viruses that could be used to capture password
keystrokes.
Community West Bank views security as something that must be constantly
maintained. New advances in security technology occur frequently, and Community
West Bank is constantly enhancing its security architecture to ensure that it
provides the highest level of privacy and safety available to its customers.
