Building A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Trust

After working for a quarter century in the tile trade, Tony Martinho established Visalia Ceramic Tile (VCT) in 1985 with all 11 of his children helping in the business. The company has since grown into one of California’s premier tile contractors, serving residential and commercial clients across Central and Northern California. Now led by the third generation, VCT employs over 150 people and continues to expand under Tony’s grandson and company president, Sam Bruce.

Banking on Relationships That Matter

What began as a high school friendship between Sam and CWB bankers Jason Vasquez and Cathy “Coz” Chatoian – a close family friend – has grown into a trusted and longstanding banking relationship.

“Community West Bank is different from any other bank we’ve worked with,” Sam says. “They know our business and are invested in our success, and that makes all the difference.”

Support in the Wake of a Pandemic

That difference shined brightly during the COVID-19 pandemic, as VCT was among the first to secure a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, guided by CWB banker Stefani Woods. “While others were left behind by the major banks, CWB was proactive and responsive in helping us protect jobs and move forward,” Sam says.

Fueling Growth and Expansion

With CWB financing, Visalia Ceramic Tile is completing a 28,000-square-foot granite fabrication facility that will triple its capacity and open new doors with vendors and clients. “Our growth and vision for the future have never been met with a ‘no’ from CWB,” Sam says. “Even as we’re finishing our multimillion-dollar build, the Bank is already helping us prepare for what’s next.”

“As a tech-driven company, we also rely on CWB’s advanced banking tools, including Remote Deposit Capture and Positive Pay, to streamline operations and help prevent fraud.”

Community Commitment Runs Deep

From leadership roles on local boards to opening their on-site gymnasium to youth sports, the Martinho family has made giving back a core part of VCT’s culture. “Our grandfather taught us to support the community that supports us,” Sam says. “That’s a legacy we’re proud to continue.”

A Trusted Partnership

With VCT’s exceptional work, impressive showroom and certified installers, it’s easy to see why so many refer business to the company. In turn, VCT confidently refers friends and colleagues to Community West Bank, reflecting a partnership built on mutual respect, shared values and commitment to employees and community.
