Community West Bank Awards $18,000 Grant to the Institute of Real Estate Management’s RENEW Program

Community West Bank, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco), has awarded an $18,000 AHEAD Program grant to the Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM) Real Estate Networking Education & Work (RENEW) program to support workforce development in the Sacramento Valley.

The RENEW program helps those facing homelessness and poverty transition into stable employment through careers in residential property management. The AHEAD grant will be used to support curriculum expenses for RENEW program participants from Sacramento’s Women’s Empowerment nonprofit, including technology, course materials and travel costs.

"Our partnership with IREM and FHLBank San Francisco represents an essential investment in RENEW's work — helping individuals transition from crisis to long-term self-sufficiency," said James J. Kim, president and CEO of Community West Bank. "This collaboration reinforces our belief that access to safe housing and stable employment are the foundations for a thriving Central Valley community."

"This grant empowers our RENEW program to reach new heights," said Tricia L. Gaiduk, president of IREM’s Sacramento Valley Chapter. "The joint support from Community West Bank and FHLBank San Francisco will accelerate our mission, helping more women secure their futures and contributing to the economic vitality of the Sacramento Valley by cultivating a ready and motivated workforce."

The AHEAD Program empowers FHLBank San Francisco members, like Community West Bank, to provide critical funding for local programs and projects that directly address economic and social needs in low to moderate income communities.
